American House Mission Statement
American House expresses its profound gratitude to the men and women who have honorably served our country. And to their spouses and families. We welcome them into a comfortable and worry-free home. We pledge assistance in obtaining available VA benefits. We offer the freedoms of privacy along with the shared life experiences of veteran gatherings. We promise to establish programs and events that formally recognize veterans while preserving veteran history and continuing educational endeavors for the benefit of future generations. American House serves our veterans and their families with great pride, dignity and compassion.
American House Sponsors Detroit, Our Greatest Generation
In 2009, American House became a sponsor of the documentary film, Detroit, Our Greatest Generation, because we wanted to honor the heroes of World War II abroad and on the home front here in Detroit. With our nation losing 1500 World War II veterans a day, this film is not only timely, but powerful and moving, instilling a sense of pride, connection and gratitude in all who see it. And with over three hundred World War II veterans calling American House home, we’re not only a sponsor of the film, but an everyday advocate for Our Greatest Generation.
