Independent Living

A senior housing community that does not provide services. These communities are typically apartment or condominium-style living quarters.

Available in Villas at the following American House Senior Living Communities: Dearborn Heights, Farmington Hills, Hazel Park, Village in Rochester Hills.

Please Note: Services are made available to Villa residents for an additional fee.

Congregate Care

A senior housing development that provides supportive services such as meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and transportation. This lifestyle encourages people to socialize by providing services and hosting events in central areas.

Available at all American House Senior Living Communities.

Independent Living with Assistance

This level of care offers services that include meals, laundry, housekeeping and transportation with the option of contracting additional assistance from an onsite home health care company. Additional services can include medication reminders, assistance with Activities of Daily Living, and physical therapy. Residents can choose services a la carte or create custom care plans.

Progressive Care

A concept that allows a person to remain in his or her current environment, despite the physical and/or mental changes that may occur during the aging process.

This living arrangement includes all levels of housing listed above.

 

 

Memory Care

Care for seniors diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other dementia and memory-related conditions in a secured environment.

Available at: American House Regent Street, American House Kentwood, American House Holland, American House Jenison, American House Spring Lake, American House Elmwood, American House Westland-Venoy, American House Bonita Springs, American House Coconut Point, American House Ft. Myers, and American House Zephyrhills.

Licensed Assisted Living

This level of residential care is state licensed and offers services including private apartments, meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and transportation. Different levels of care indicate an additional monthly fee.

Respite Care

Short-term stays for those recovering from an injury, hospital stay, or surgery. Also a helpful resource for primary caregivers who need extra support for a short time. Stays can range from one day to several weeks or months.

Available at all American House communities.

Hospice Care

Specialized care to lessen the physical and emotional discomfort of the terminally ill. Services are available to both caregivers and loved ones.

Offered by hospice organizations in American House Senior Living Communities or at a hospice home.
