Covid-19 Vaccine Coming Soon to a Community Near You!

American House Senior Living Communities has been monitoring the COVID-19 virus situation since it was first diagnosed in the United States in 2020.

Keeping our residents and employees healthy and safe is our top priority. Our priority is prevention. All of our communities are following the recommendations of the CDC on prevention steps, including following strict handwashing procedures and, in some circumstances, wearing gowns and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick. We have implemented weekly COVID-19 testing and we will offer the vaccine when available. We are staying up-to-date with the CDC recommendations as they are communicated. In addition, our team is in close contact with local and state health departments and we are following their guidance.

In response to the pandemic, American House Senior Living Communities developed HomeSafe™, a program which focuses on the health and safety of every individual in our community. From the air you breathe to the surfaces you touch, we are diligent in creating an environment that exceeds industry standards and assures peace-of-mind every day. HomeSafe offers the PURE pillars – focusing on community disinfection standards, enhanced housekeeping and air purification to make our environment PURE clean.

On December 11, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the first emergency use authorization (EUA) for a vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19. American House Senior Living Communities is working in partnership with Walgreens to take proactive measures to deliver the first doses of COVID-19 vaccine as soon as a vaccine becomes available. The first doses of the vaccine will be prioritized for assisted living and memory care residents.

To prepare for this long-awaited vaccine, we are working in collaboration with Walgreens to plan for three (3) clinics per site. Three separate clinics are planned to ensure that participants choosing to receive the vaccine get the opportunity to be protected by the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccination will be delivered in two (2) doses between 21-28 days apart.

The pharmacy professionals at Walgreens will be on-site to administer the vaccinations, monitor each participant for 15 minutes preceding the vaccine and complete all reporting requirements necessary for a successful roll-out of this important initiative.

We are happy to be able to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to our residents and staff to continue our focus of prevention. We will continue to follow all CDC recommendations and those of government authorities as they are communicated.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this ever-changing situation. We are committed to keeping you up-to-date with any further pertinent information.
