Important Information Regarding Our Downriver Residents

On October 24, our company experienced a fire at American House Southgate, and while it was a frightening event, we are deeply grateful to our heroic first responders who helped ensure the evacuation was successful and all residents and team members were safe.

In the days following the event, our American House team members have been working with the Red Cross to assist our residents in obtaining housing and much-needed items to move forward. The Downriver community stepped up with donations, for which we are all incredibly grateful!

At this point, there is no longer a need for clothing donations. If you’d like to donate, please see the list below for items our residents need. If you have a donation, please call (734) 720-1005 to set up a drop off time/place.

Items Needed:

Furniture – Sofas, recliners, kitchen table/chairs, end tables, bedroom dressers, bedding
Small appliances – Microwaves, coffee makers, toasters

The generosity of the people in our community is overwhelming, and we appreciate everyone who has offered to help at this challenging time.
