We are happy to report that American House Brentwood's electricity from the power grid has been restored. Energy from the generator is no longer necessary.

We are providing you with a full update regarding Winter Storm Fern and the steps American House Brentwood has taken to ensure the safety and comfort of our residents.
As many of you are aware, our community lost power at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 25. Our onsite generator immediately activated and was able to support heat in several common areas, a limited number of electrical outlets, and essential culinary equipment so meal service could continue.
Recognizing the severity of the storm and the widespread outages in our area, we submitted an official request to the State of Tennessee to help prioritize our community for utility restoration and diesel fuel support. Unfortunately, we were notified by the electric company later that evening that they could not guarantee power restoration for an estimated 4–5 days.
Given that timeline, we took immediate action.
Generator Support and Increased Power
To ensure our residents remained safe and comfortable, we contracted with an emergency power provider to deliver a larger generator capable of supporting the full building. While the first unit delivered this morning was not large enough to power the entire community, it is significantly more powerful than our onsite generator and has expanded our available heat and power.
A full-building generator—capable of supporting all systems—will arrive in approximately five hours. Once connected, it will remain onsite until permanent power is fully restored.
Our Team’s Commitment
We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the entire American House Brentwood team for their dedication throughout this event. In particular, we are grateful for Executive Director Barry James, whose leadership, communication, and hands-on support have been instrumental in navigating this challenging situation.
Thank You
We appreciate your patience, understanding, and trust as we continue responding to the impacts of this winter storm. The safety and well-being of our residents remain our top priority, and we will continue sharing updates as new information becomes available.

Stay safe and warm,
